Minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) testing is used to assess the ability of an antimicrobial agent to kill a bacterial strain. The MBC is defined as the lowest concentration of antimicrobial agent that kills ≥99.9% of the pathogen.

Procedure
An MIC assay is performed. Aliquots of the clear wells are plated on agar to determine the MBC value.
