Streptococcus equi
Streptococcus equi is a Gram-positive bacterium and part of group C strep found in horses and other domestic animals, but it can also infect humans who come into close contact with these animals. S. equi infections in humans, such as meningitis, pneumonia, and bacteremia, are often severe and sometimes fatal.
