Staphylococcus caprae
Staphylococcus caprae
Staphylococcus caprae is a Gram-positive bacterium that was originally identified in goats, but can also infect humans. It can cause infections of the urinary tract (UTI), bones, joints, and bloodstream (bacteremia). Immunocompromised individuals and those in healthcare settings are most at risk for contracting S. caprae.
An infection model using this pathogen can be validated upon request.
