Aspergillus fumigatus is a common fungus that lives both indoors and outdoors. Most people inhale A. fumigatus mold spores every day without consequence, but those with weakened immune systems are especially at risk for a respiratory infection known as aspergillosis. Rarely, skin infections can also develop.
