A Note from the President

TransPharm hit a major milestone September! We have now performed over one thousand preclinical studies since opening 2008. The team will be celebrating by going out to lunch at local restaurant.

Also, we’d like to remind you that TransPharm will be closed starting Monday, December 24th and will reopen on Wednesday, January 2nd. The last day for animal deliveries is December 17th, and studies for early January should be booked by then as well. All 2018 studies must end on or before December 21st. We will be checking email periodically and this is the best way to reach us during our break. We wish you and yours a joyous holiday season and a happy new year.

In the Lab

We recently validated a methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) pulmonary infection in CFTR^tm1UNCtransgenic mice. This strain is one of eleven cystic fibrosis mouse models and has an exon 10 replacement which disrupts the endogenous cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene. The mouse strain commonly used to characterize the pulmonary inflammatory response to bacterial infection. CFTR^tm1UNC mice are also susceptible to infection with P. aeruginosa, which can be validated upon request. Contact us today for more information or to request a free, no-obligation quote.
